Genuine ancient Roman bronze sestertius of Emperor Severus Alexander (AD 222–235), the young emperor born in Arca Caesarea (modern Akkar, Lebanon) who ruled for thirteen years. Struck at Rome in AD 231. Large coin, approximately 30 mm. Obverse: laureate bust of the emperor. Reverse: standing figure with radiate crown raising one hand and holding a globe, with S C (by decree of the Senate). Independently authenticated and graded by NGC (USA): Fine.
