Description

Key Responsibilities - Operate and maintain CNC routers/machines to cut, shape, and fabricate parts from wood, MDF, plywood, plastics, and other materials used in event builds - Read and interpret CAD/CAM files, shop drawings, and technical specs to set up jobs and toolpaths - Perform material selection, nesting, and cut optimization to minimize waste - Build, assemble, and finish custom scenic elements, staging, furniture, and displays using both CNC-cut and hand-built carpentry methods - Collaborate with designers, project managers, and production leads to translate concepts into buildable, load-in-ready pieces - Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment (bit changes, calibration, minor repairs) - Ensure builds meet structural, safety, and load-bearing requirements for live event environments - Work within tight production schedules tied to event dates, often requiring flexible hours as show dates approach - Support load-in, on-site assembly, or strike as needed - Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment
